Home of the Aviation Study Centre and Aviation Australia, the state of Queensland is famous for it's excellent weather all year and superb flying conditions. This state has become very popular for flight attendant and pilot training and ensures an enjoyable lifestyle for visiting international students. This state has the most beautiful beaches and rainforest in Australia and a very outdoor lifestyle.

NEW SOUTH WALES

The state of New South Wales is the oldest and most populated state in Australia. The capital city of Sydney, alone has over 3,000,000 residents making it the largest city in Australia. The state has a wide range of natural features and borders on the Snowy Mountains where skiing is very good in winter. Diversity is a major feature of New South Wales. You can live in the busy city or choose from a number of smaller country town and beachside lifestyle options.

ACT - THE AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY

The ACT is a territory of which the capital city is Canberra - Australia's Capital City. Set approximately 150 km south west of Sydney, the ACT covers 4,067 square kilometres and has a small population of about 312,000, most of whom live in Canberra city. As it is the capital city of Australia, most embassies are located in Canberra.

VICTORIA
Victoria is the second largest State in Australia (by population), with 4.7 million people living in a land area of 227,420 km2. The capital city of Melbourne is considered by many to be the "arts and fashion centre of Australia". Melbourne has a rich history and many beautiful old buildings, museums, galleries and theatres. The city is packed with excellent restaurants and boasts a very sophisticated arts scene. Outside Melbourne, the state has beautiful natural surrounds with many small towns, farms and wineries.

TASMANIA
Tasmania is Australiafs only island State. It is situated 240 kilometres south of mainland Victoria across the Bass Straight. Tasmania is famous for its natural beauty and its relaxed friendly atmosphere. The island of Tasmania covers an area of 67,800 square kilometreswith a population of only 472,000 people.
Tasmania is also known for its arts, culture and gourmet delights such as dairy products, smoked salmon and wine.

Western Australia State Floral Emblem -  the Red and Green Kangaroo Paw

WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Western Australia is huge. At over 2.5 million km2, it is one of the largest states in the world. However, the entire state has a population of under 2 million - most of whom live in Perth, the state capital. Perth is a modern bustling city with a beautiful harbour town of Fremantle nearby. Outside this area, though the state is largely spectacular wilderness and desert. The Indian Ocean coastline is rugged and popular with tourists due to its unique beauty.

Northern Territory Floral Emblem -  Sturt's Desert Rose

NORTHERN TERRITORY
Like Western Australia, the Northern Territory is largely unpopulated. The capital , Darwin, sits on the north coast in close proximity to Indonesia. The state, at about 1.35 million km2, is famous for Australia's most iconic tourist destination - Uluru (Ayers Rock) in the south. The second city in the Northern Territory, Alice Springs is well known for its excellent aboriginal artists and unique local natural environment.
